Synopsis:Havana, 1914: Amada, a middle-class housewife, falls in love with her cousin Marcial, a young idealist who is fighting against the ruling Cuban regime and for social equality and freedom. Amada is passionately attracted to Marcial and does not love her unfaithful husband; but she is trapped in familial traditions and moral conventions and cannot follow Marcial and leave her insincere and artificial milieu. Only in her dreams does she dare to entertain the idea of fleeing with Marcial. For her performance in the role of Amada, Eslinda Núñez (Lucía, 1968) was awarded the Audience’s Acting Award at the 10th International Ibero-American Film Festival in Huelva, Spain in 1983.
